San Francisco in Bloom

Hey folks,

Sorry for the long absence 😦 Life has been pretty busy and it’s getting busier.  I thought I would take some time to update the blog and at least post a few shots for my recent trip to San Francisco, which was wonderful, thanks for asking!

My husband and I kickstarted April with a fantastic and restorative trip to visit a really good friend up north.  San Francisco is always lovely, and positioned at the gateway to the Pacific Northwest it always pulls at my heartstrings; reminding me of my time in Humboldt and behind the Redwood Curtain.  With cherry blossoms erupting over previously barren branches and spring blossoms carpeting the walkways of the Golden Gate Park, the city was a kaleidoscope of color and fragrance that was something to really behold and a reminder that it’s good to get out and away from the day to day grind to enjoy the little wonders of the world around us.

Without further adieu, here are some snapshots of our festivities:

See what I mean, spring in the city is just gorgeous.

More of Alcatraz. I highly recommend it. Not just, because it's a pretty neat piece of history, but also because the grounds have lovely gardens and the short ferry ride out to the island gives you some amazing vistas of the city, the bridges and Marin.

This breathtaking view of the Castro and surrounding areas was taken from a friend of a friend's balcony, lucky bastard.

Cocktails! My favorite was the Wild Tea Vodka with Dry Cucumber soda and a squeeze of fresh lime, yum!
